I commend your guess for sharing her story. I pray that she finds clarity. Perhaps putting her children first and think about what she’s modeling for them. Gotta stop straddling the fence and make a stand. Perhaps impulse control needs work?

    • Miyume Mckinley Miyume Mckinley says:

As with most addictions, a program to address underlying issues, identify triggers and learning appropriate coping skills is necessary. For love addiction Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous (S.L.A.A.) is very helpful.

  14. Anon says:

    Hello,

Your program is so necessary! Thank you and your radio show team for graciously handling so many difficult topics! if your schedule allows, I’d like to hear a show on practical strategies on getting “un-stuck” and moving forward when dealing with certain life circumstances, such as, for example:

    - an unfulfilling career
    - rejection from a failed relationship
    - facing chronic health challenges
    - unproductive/limiting thought patterns

It’s a broad topic, but I don’t believe I’m the only person who has experienced a period of time where they’ve felt stuck for whatever reason.

    Thanks again!

    • Miyume Mckinley Miyume Mckinley says:

These are all great topics! Thanks so much for your support! I will add these to the list of show topics to be discussed in the next couple of months. Stay tuned!

If you defend yourself and hit back, don’t both kids get suspended?

  18. TiredOfThis says:

Hi Miyume, Your show today hits close to home for me, I feel stuck in a bad job, no opportunity for advancement, lazy co-workers, high turnover rate and I’m constantly having to train new people, I am the glue holding the entire organization together yet my supervisors will not promote my position. How can I get my bosses to recognize the value that I bring to the organization or should I just quit and move on to another job?

    • Miyume Mckinley Miyume Mckinley says:

It is definitely hard to stay motivated when your environment is toxic. Have you asked your supervisor for the job (promotion) expectations or informed them of your interest in the position? Have you asked for feedback on your current position (strengths and weaknesses). Your current position sounds overwhelming, however quitting can have long term effects on you and your family if not planned for correctly. Think hard about that decision and weigh the pros and cons. However, searching for other positions will make you aware of the current job market and whats available. Many people attend therapy to help in managing job related stress. Just remember your health is important, so take necessary precautions in ensuring your emotional health as stress can impact you physically. Be mindful of your thinking and identify thinking traps that increase stress and anxiety. Positive thoughts reduce stress.
